Brotherly Highlight - Scott

Scott is the one true rock star in MB&I. I mean, just look at that hair! He’s the oldest of the brothers and the one always taping along to music in public. Below is a quick Q/A with our drummer. We hope you enjoy getting to know the rock and fire of MB&I. Enjoy!

When did you start playing music? What instrument?

As a toddler I would use wooden spoons as drum sticks and hit pots and bowls on the floor like it was my drum set. My parents bought me my first drum set when I was 9 or 10 years old, but even before then I had access to the drum set at church. I would play every Wednesday night after my Dad finished worship practice, and on Sunday’s after church. I started filling in and playing drums with the worship band when I was 13.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music?

I like to play basketball and watch sports. The Portland Trailblazers and Oregon Ducks are my teams.

If money were no object, what would you eat for dinner tonight?

Expensive sushi. I only eat the cheap stuff right now.

What is your favorite scene in The Office (U.S.)?

When Dwight starts a fake fire in the office to facilitate a fire drill but everyone thinks it’s real.

Have you ever been tempted to purchase something from a video ad?

Once a week around midnight I make a Taco Bell run just because it came on TV.

Are there any musical artists you think you'll always listen to? Even 20 years from now?

I think there are certain albums for sure, John Mayor’s Continuum, Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, Coldplay’s A Rush Of Blood To The Head, James Blake’s The Colour In Anything, The Roots’ How I Got Over, way too many to name but I’ll throw Primus’ Brown Album in as well.
